Wendy Carr Interior Designs

I was contacted by Matt Carr, husband of Wendy of Wendy Carr Interior Designs of Grand Blanc Michigan to see if I could help them out. Their website had been hacked and was full of malicious code that caused the hosting company to shut it down. After a few communications and couple hours of work, I got the site back online. However, it was corrupted to the point that it needed a “total makeover.”

Files from the site’s theme and plugins were unable to be restored after the attack.  So, I offered my services to redesign the website.  About a week later it was completed.  Wendy and Matt have hired me to continue to maintain their website for the next year – and likely beyond.

The design of the old site was a bit outdated, which doesn’t take long these days with the ever changes in available technology.  One of the biggest issues for websites is that if they’re not constantly updated – including all of the 3rd party plugins – they become the target of hackers who upload malicious code to the server, ultimately taking it down. This is another reason I include one year of maintenance with my design services.

In this case I was able to save all of the site’s content and pictures, which I gave to Wendy for safe keeping.  This is not always possible, but luckily only non-content files were corrupted and not able to be restored.  I look forward to working with Wendy over the coming year and helping her business to thrive.
