Michigan Storm Softball Club

I designed and maintained the old Lakeshore Storm Softball & Baseball club website for many years. It was originally built in Joomla, but in the Fall of 2022 I redesigned it in WordPress.  The club is now known as the Michigan Storm softball club with many teams from the west side of Michigan.

The old Storm website was built in a very early version of Joomla, which required a very cumbersome and time consuming upgrade in order to fix security issues.  Years later the upgrade process improved with Joomla, but still problems persisted from 3rd party plugins. This caused issues which could not be resolved, so I decided to rebuild the site in WordPress.

The images above and below are from the new design. At the time of writing this post, there are some pages that are incomplete, because it’s the beginning of their season (Club Softball in Michigan goes for one year from August to August).  The year’s teams, updated forms, tournaments, etc. are all posted usually from August through October, with minor updates through the rest of the season.
